Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Interchouette - ITC ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Gregory Roussac, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (the "Services"), including integrations with third-party platforms such as LinkedIn.
1. Data we collect
Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect:
- Account and profile data you provide or authorize (e.g. name, email address, profile picture, LinkedIn profile identifiers).
- Authentication data when you connect via OAuth or similar providers (access tokens, refresh tokens, and related metadata).
- Usage data such as pages visited, features used, timestamps, and approximate technical information (browser type, device, IP address), including via analytics if you accept non-essential cookies.
- Visitor chat data when you use the site chat: message text, optional email you leave for follow-up, and technical session identifiers needed to keep the conversation going.
- Customer login profile (when Google Sign-In is configured): name, email, profile picture, and Google subject identifier, stored only in this browser.
- Communications you send us (support requests, emails).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data beyond what is needed to operate the Services or what you explicitly choose to share.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
We distinguish essential storage (needed for the site and chat to work) from non-essential cookies used for analytics.
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement id on this site) may set cookies / identifiers to understand aggregated traffic. It loads only after you Accept non-essential cookies in the consent banner. If you Decline, we do not load that analytics tag for your browser.
- Chat storage in this browser keeps a short resume token, the last messages (about seven days), and any email you saved in the chat form. That cache is encrypted with a key bound to this site origin so a casual look at localStorage does not show the text. It is not end-to-end encryption. Forget this chat in the panel wipes the local cache.
- Consent choice itself is stored locally so we remember Accept or Decline.
- Customer login, when used, stores the Google profile fields above in localStorage under a site key. Clearing site data removes that session.
3. Visitor chat, Slack, and optional email
When chat is available, messages may be relayed to Gregory Roussac over Slack when he is online. When he is away, answers may be generated from public Interchouette notes (including via Interchouette MCP) and may use OpenRouter for language-model replies. If you leave an email in chat, we use it only so Greg can follow up; it is also kept in your browser storage as above until you use Forget this chat or clear site data.
4. Customer login (Google Sign-In)
The site may show a Customer login button that uses Google Identity Services in this browser. When a Google client id is configured, Google shows a popup; we then store your name, email, profile picture, and Google subject identifier in this browser only. We do not send the Google token to Interchouette servers. This login does not open a private backoffice, customer portal, or Interchouette account.
Until a Google client id is configured, the button is visible but login does not run. Sign out (when offered) or clearing site data removes the stored profile.
5. Calendar booking
When a public Google Calendar appointment schedule is published, booking happens on Google's page under Google's terms. This site only links to that page. We do not write events to your calendar from Interchouette servers. Until that schedule URL is configured, booking is not offered as a working product.
6. Why we collect data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Authenticate users and manage connected accounts (including LinkedIn);
- Operate visitor chat and optional follow-up by email;
- Remember a Customer login profile in this browser when you choose to sign in with Google;
- Respond to requests and provide support;
- Monitor security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations;
- Understand aggregated usage (analytics) when you have accepted non-essential cookies.
7. How we use and share data
We process data only for the purposes above. We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with:
- Service providers that help us host, secure, or operate the Services (under appropriate confidentiality obligations), including hosting and (if accepted) analytics;
- Slack when live chat relays a visitor message to Greg's workspace;
- OpenRouter when away-mode chat uses a language model (message text is sent to generate a reply);
- Google when you use Sign-In or open a Calendar appointment schedule (those flows run in Google's UI under Google's terms);
- Platforms you connect (e.g. LinkedIn), according to their terms and the permissions you grant;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights and users.
8. LinkedIn integration
If you authorize LinkedIn access, we receive only the information permitted by LinkedIn's APIs and your consent. We use that information solely to provide the features you requested. You can revoke access at any time from your LinkedIn account settings and/or by contacting us.
9. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. In particular:
- Browser chat cache is intended to expire after about seven days, or sooner if you use Forget this chat or clear site data;
- Slack chat threads and optional follow-up email are kept as long as needed to respond and operate the Services, then deleted or minimized when no longer needed;
- The Customer login profile stays in this browser until you sign out or clear site data; Interchouette does not keep a server copy of that Google profile;
- Analytics data (if you accepted cookies) follows the retention settings of the analytics provider and our configuration.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
10. Your rights and deletion requests
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate data;
- Request deletion of your personal data;
- Withdraw consent or disconnect third-party integrations.
To request access, correction, or deletion, email contact@interchouette.net with the subject "Privacy request". We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
